The positions of Deputy Director General at the public broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova (TRM) are currently filled on an interim basis. The Chair of TRM’s Supervisory and Development Board, Arcadie Gherasim, told Media Azi that Tatiana Vlas is serving as Acting Deputy Director General responsible for television, while Veaceslav Gheorghișenco is serving as Acting Deputy Director General responsible for radio. Both have previously held management positions within the organisation. Asked by Media Azi whether she had any potential candidates in mind, TRM’s Director General, Ecaterina Cheptanaru, said that the organisation was in the process of selecting its management team, but no names had yet been put forward for these positions.
“Alongside the projects we are developing and the objectives we have set ourselves, we are currently also in the process of selecting the management team. We believe that building a professional team with experience and vision is essential to ensuring sustainable development and successfully implementing our projects. We want to make these decisions responsibly, taking into account both current needs and long-term development plans,” the head of the public service media provider told Media Azi.
According to the Audiovisual Media Services Code of the Republic of Moldova, TRM’s Deputy Directors General are appointed for a fixed term that may not exceed the term of office of the Director General.
Media Azi previously reported that TRM’s former Director General, Vlad Țurcanu, announced his resignation in May 2026, amid controversy surrounding the Republic of Moldova’s jury vote at Eurovision 2026. Following the appointment of a new Director General, the terms of office of his two deputies, Andrei Zapșa and Cornel Ciobanu, also came to an end, in accordance with the law.
Ecaterina Cheptanaru won the competition for the position of TRM Director General on 22 September 2026, following the interview stage, and was officially appointed to the position by the Supervisory and Development Board on 1 October.
