The Press Council will present a new Code of Ethics for Moldovan journalists on 3 May 2019. By that time representatives of civil society and a number of journalists will discuss the proposed amendments and addenda within three rounds. For instance, the document will contain such notions as ‘online journalism’ or ‘false news’.
The Code in a new wording will replace that of 2011, and the amendments and addenda are imposed by today’s reality, explains Viorica Zaharia – Chairperson of the Press Council, during a new edition of Media Azi Show. ‘Journalism is a constantly changing field. Certain developments take place. Information technologies have especially developed. That is why we need this update’, she specified.
Watch the show to find out what other amendments or addenda to the document might be made, and why it is important to have them in the new version of the Code.

The show can be viewed on, and portals and on the IJC’s Youtube channel.
