“Don’t you even open your mouth before I stop talking. You’re like woodpeckers.”
The leader of the Party of Communists Vladimir Voronin refused to answer the journalists’ questions regarding the future actions of the party, motivating it by the lack of trust in the media outlets represented by the journalists:
“I have no respect for the channels you are representing. They are all sold. Learn to give a correct and objective coverage to what is happening in the country, in the Parliament, to the way people live. You are telling lies 24 hours a day,” was Voronin’s answer to journalists.
Whether jokingly or seriously, Voronin named the television Publika TV “the nastiest channel”. “Don’t you even open your mouth before I stop talking. You’re like woodpeckers,” said Voronin.
